John the Baptist tells his disciples that Jesus is the Lamb God who takes away the sins of the world. John tells them that he was given Revelation from God when he baptized Jesus. The Holy Spirit came in the form of a dove and it remained on Jesus. When his disciples heard this, they followed Jesus.

The Guards' Report and the Great Commission
In this week's lesson, we learn that the Roman guards go to the chief priest and religious leaders and tell them what they witnessed. The religious leaders come up with a story and bribe the guards to tell their lie. We also see that Jesus meets His disciples in Galilee and gives them the Great Commission by telling the disciples to go out throughout the world and make new disciples by baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The death and burial of Jesus Christ
In today’s study, we will see that major events happened at the time of Jesus death on the cross. And because of these events, the Roman Centurion, who had witnessed these things, truly believed that Jesus was the son of the God. Also, we will see that a very wealthy man, named Joseph of Arimathea, goes asked Pilate for Jesus' body. He wanted to give Jesus a proper burial. He put Jesus in his tomb which was carved out of the hill. He then wrapped Jesus in a white fine linen cloth then rolled a stone in front of the tomb. Finally, we will see where Pilate issues a guard to protect Jesus' tomb and Pilate also issues a seal on the tomb.

Jesus is crucified and dies on the cross
After Jesus is sentenced to death, He is mocked, flogged, beaten, and crucified on the cross. It wasn't the crucifixion that killed Jesus, but instead, it was the sins of humanity. Jesus who was sinless, bore the sins of the world.

Jesus is mocked and crucified.
After Pilate sentenced Jesus to death by crucifixion, the Roman soldiers take Jesus back into the Practorium to prepare Him for crucifixion. They spit, beat, mock, and flogged Him. Once this was done, they sent Jesus on His way to Golgotha carrying His cross and appointed Simon of Cyrene to help Jesus carry the cross.

Jesus goes before Pilate
In today’s lesson, we will see that although, Pilate knows that Jesus is innocent, he still allows the crowds to decide Jesus' fate. Because it was the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the governor would release one prisoner. The prisoner that Pilate selects is called Jesus Barabbas.
